This island is one of the nearest island to the shore of Terengganu. This exotic island has its own history.

Home of thousands of refugees from Vietnam...who fled here after escaping from the brutality of Khmer Rouge regime which ruled their country.

This abandoned island is left behind together with its own secrets. The secrets of the refugees. Some died and buried here. Some got married and have children here...before they were sent to 3rd countries like USA, Canada and European countries. Oh nostalgia island, you name will be forgotten to those who had been here, the island where they made their wish and thousands of hopes for better life and fortune.

It looks like not so many initiatives done to promote this island into one of the popular destination for tourism. The island does not have facilities and good accommodation for visitors. To the extent of not safe to be visited?

No preservation done. The abandoned wells dug by the refugees for their fresh water supply became death traps to visitors. Why all this bad stories has to be suffered by this helping island, once the home of people who do not know where to go?
